Between Concept and Production.

Anthony Lilore works across apparel design, technical development, sourcing, and manufacturing. His experience spans the full process: from the earliest product decisions through fit, construction, materials, factory execution, and production.

He has worked alongside fashion houses and brands including Club Monaco, Perry Ellis, Bill Blass, and SUMMERSALT. Anthony has also consulted for globally ranked leaders, including Giorgio Armani, Ralph Lauren, Calvin Klein, Chanel, Dior, and Ferragamo across apparel, accessories, cosmetics, fragrance, and spa industries.

Anthony served as a Cultural Arts Envoy for the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Embassy in Thailand, is a founding board member of Save the Garment Center, and has long advocated for sustainable, domestic manufacturing.

As an educator, guest speaker, panelist, and juror, he has contributed to institutions including Parsons, Pratt Institute, FIT, California College of the Arts, Kent State and the High School of Fashion Industries in New York City, continuing to share his knowledge with the next generation of fashion leaders.

RESTORE Through the Years

It Started With
60,000 Yards
of Waste.

Pile of discarded clothing at a landfill
1999

“I worked on a short-term promotional project that used 60,000 yards of fabric. That’s about 34 miles of material.

When the project was over, so was the usefulness of the fabric.

I couldn’t stop thinking about it.

— Anthony Lilore, Founder, RESTORE
2000

The Question Became:
How Do We Do This Better?

That experience led Anthony to begin working directly with mills on recycled nylon fabrics for wearable applications.

The goal wasn’t simply to use recycled material. It still had to perform. It had to feel right. It had to work for the product.

2005

RESTORE Becomes
the Product.

RESTORE launched as its own brand—putting the ideas behind the business into finished apparel.

Materials, fit, construction, performance, and production all had to work together. Sustainability wasn’t something added to the story after the product was made. It was part of how the product was designed and developed.

FROM THE RESTORE ARCHIVE · SPRING/SUMMER 2012
TODAY

The Product Changed.
The Thinking Didn’t.

RESTORE evolved from its own collection into the full-service studio it is today.

The work is broader now, but the instinct remains the same: understand the problem first, then determine the right way to design, develop, and produce it.

Different client. Different product. Different problem.
The job is to find the right solution.
How We Think

The Product Tells Us
What It Needs.

Every product brings a different set of questions. We start by understanding what needs to be made, what it needs to do, and what has to be true for it to work in the real world.

01

Start With the Problem

There isn’t one development formula for every product. We start with what you’re trying to make, who it’s for, what it needs to do, and what has to be true for it to make sense.

02

Design for Reality

A good idea still has to work in materials, construction, fit, cost, minimums, and manufacturing. Those realities aren’t limitations added at the end—they’re part of the design process.

03

Build the Right Team Around the Product

Different products require different materials, specialists, factories, and production capabilities. RESTORE brings together the resources that make sense for the specific job.

04

Think Beyond the First Sample

We develop with production in mind. Decisions made early affect quality, consistency, cost, scalability, and what happens when it’s time to make more.

The process changes. The standard doesn't.
